The Hakka Affairs Council (HAC) specially arranged a themed pavilion, Good Times with Hakka Cuisine, and invited 20 companies from the cultural industry to take part. The exhibition design combined Hakka history and culture, using a rice-drying ground, kitchen, and bamboo forest to convey the spirit of life in a Hakka village.
Minister Lee pointed out that the themed pavilion Good Times with Hakka Cuisine had been planned based on the concepts of slow food, slow travel, and slow living. Not only did it offer selected Hakka cuisine products, it also blended Hakka history and culture into the exhibition design, to allow visitors to simultaneously experience Hakka living spaces, cuisine, and culture.
The themed pavilion gathered together 20 Hakka restaurants from Hakka villages around Taiwan, and invited the champions of the 2016 Hakka Cuisine Contest to share their gold medal-winning dishes, so that visitors could savor the delicious flavors of a Hakka kitchen. Tour guides expert in Hakka culture were also invited to recommend the scenery and natural ecologies that Hakka villages have to offer, leading visitors through Hakka villages with fun and food.
