Tung Flower Festival

During late Spring and early summer, the valleys in northern Taiwan are covered with the bloom of Tung flowers. Traveling to the hills to view the Tung flowers has fast becoming a fad for the nature lovers.
The Hakka Tung Flower Festival is launched with an aim of calling the public's appreciation of Nature's creations, such as forests and plants, and treasure them with gratitudes and humbleness.
To promote Hakka culture and boost tourism, industries and trades in the Hakka areas, a photography contest is held, enabling the public to learn more about the multi-faceted, outstanding and down to earth features of the Hakka people.
